Description

Details

The FastFerment is a plastic conical fermenter, which provides you all the benefits of typical stainless conical, but at a fraction of the price! Do your primary and secondary fermentations in the same vessel. No more racking between carboys!

Conical Fermenters are a great addition for your brewery, because they allow you to do both your primary and secondary fermentations in the same vessel. The problem is that conicals can sometimes cost hundreds if not thousands of dollars. Enter the FastFerment! The "cone" shape design of the fermenter allows yeast and sediment to collect in the bottom of the fermenter. When fermentation is done, simply close the bottom valve and remove the collection ball from the vessel and voila – you have started secondary fermentation! Now you can clean the collection ball and put it back on the FastFerment to finish off your secondary, or you can store it with the yeast in the fridge to use again. Easy as pie.

I love it! When making wine with oak or grape skins I just put them in a nylon bag. I do this also if I dry hop a beer. You can then just pull the bag out before "racking" or bottling. The price is very good, especially when compared to the now defunct V-Vessel. (Posted on 5/6/2015)

The screw lid on top will not seal. The gasket needs to be 2 times thicker. I read other reviews and this is a known constant problem. Wished I would have read the reviews before. The bubbler shows no activity as a result. Also if your wine must has oak or elderflowers that do not sink but stay on top then this fermenter won't work because it only removes sediment from the bottom. You may still have to siphon. When degassing you run the risk of scratching and gouging the side walls. Scratches are hard to clean and may cause problems. Glass is better. This fermenter is overpriced as well in my opinion.
