This shield will work to protect kettles and their fittings from non-Blichmann burners and heat sources. As it is a flat sheet of metal, it can be molded and cut to the shape you need, or simply balanced between the kettle and the heat source to block dangerous heat from destroying your ball valves, sight glasses, and other kettle accessories.
